Pattern Imprinted Concrete

Pattern imprinted concrete requires a new seal coat every 2 to 4 years, the timescale is dependant on facotrs such as wear an tear, also the durability of the existing sealant. When a pattern imprinted concrete driveway requires resealing it starts to show tells. It can go white in areas, or it can appear dull. If a concrete driveway is left to long without being resealed then problems can start to occur. You can read more about pattern imprinted concrete problems by clicking here. It is imperative that a new sealant coat is applied to the imprinted concrete at the appropriate timescales or you could lose the colour altogether.

Below is an example of a driveway we sealed just in time. You will notice the colour is beginning to fade andbare concrete is showing through. The white marks are tells that the concrete requires sealing soon. Please roll over the image to see the after picture.

Block paving sealing

Block paving can be sealed with either a long lasting polyurethane sealant or alternatively a less durable acrylic sealant. The acrylic sealant will need reapplying between 18 months and 3 years, however this is generally the cheaper sealant. A polyurethane sealant will last approximately twice as long, but has a higher application cost. Both sealants will help reduce weeds, but no sealant will totally stop weeds, as weeds can grow in the tiniest of detrius and mud, if your looking for a solution to reduce weeds then applying a sealant will be beneficial. If you would like to learn more information about the benefits of either sealant then please conctact us.

Below you will find an image demonstrating, how we have cleaned and restored a block paved area and then applied a sealant. Aesthetically, acylic sealants do look the same as urethane when applied, although they do function diferently. You can also choose a wet look ( shiny look) or a matt look in both sealants. Once a block paved area is sealed it strengthens the sand joints and helps prevent paving failure. Please roll over the image to view the after picture
